Amino acids in agriculture

Amino acids are molecules specific to living organisms.

They stimulate the action of enzymes, the compounds that are the basis of all metabolic processes in living organisms. One of the basic components of amino acids is nitrogen. Plants take nitrogen from the soil and process it, through their specific metabolism, turning it into amino acids. In general, foliar application of amino acids is correlated with plant requirement and in particular, at critical growth stages. Plants absorb amino acids through stomata, the absorption being proportional to the temperature and humidity of the environment. Amino acids help improve soil microflora, thus facilitating the assimilation of nutrients.
